Fifteen people have been confirmed dead and twenty‑five others injured after a devastating road traffic collision at Peki‑Tsame in the Volta Region during the early hours of Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
The crash occurred near Peki Senior High School and involved two vehicles:
A Mercedes‑Benz container truck travelling from Nkwanta to Accra, and a Mercedes‑Benz passenger bus heading from Battor to Kabiti in the Oti Region.
Emergency teams responded quickly, but several victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The injured were transported to nearby health facilities for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Peki Government Hospital morgue for preservation and identification.
