A 21-year-old woman identified as Anita has reportedly been arrested by police in Ashaiman after allegedly attempting to smuggle illicit substances into a police cell.
According to circulating reports from local media and social platforms, the suspect was intercepted while trying to deliver food items to a detainee identified as Richard Acquah, who is believed to be her boyfriend.
Drugs Allegedly Hidden in Food Items
Reports suggest that the woman concealed suspected illegal substances inside packaged food items, including a meat pie and yoghurt.
A search conducted by police allegedly led to the discovery of substances believed to be tramadol and/or Indian hemp hidden within the food.
The discovery reportedly triggered her immediate arrest by officers on duty.
